Estonian President refuses to sign the law "banning" the Estonian Orthodox Church"

Shortly after Bishop Daniel of Tartu's statement to the UN, the President of Estonia refused to sign the law amending the Republic's Law on Churches and Parishes. Therefore, International advocacy organised by members of our Alliance contributed to the President's decision. We congratulate the Orthodox faithful of Estonia on this event and thank the President of Estonia, H.E. Mr Alar Karis, for his correct and well-considered decision.

The Alliance encourages Christians to continue to use UN appearances and other forms of international advocacy to defend the right to religious freedom!
