On March 17, 2025, Bishop Demetrius (Lepisk) of Tartu of the Estonian Orthodox Church distributed a statement during the 58th regular session of the UN Human Rights Council on violations of the rights of EOC believers.
The bishop expressed concern about the attempts of the Estonian authorities to force the EOC believers to renounce their canonical ties in the Russian Orthodox Church. It is clear that such pressure from Estonia on the believers is illegal and violates the norms of international law.
Bishop Daniel of Tartu spoke at the UN thanks to the efforts of the Alliance members, who will continue to defend the rights of the EOC believers at the international level.
Publication about Bishop Daniel of Tartu's speech on the EOC website is at the link.
